Moving the plants

April 19, 2007- After being informed that the construction of the road shoulder would interfere with or plants. We where advised to replant them farther from the road so that they could survive. We arrived at the beach with shovels in hand and with the assistance of some village workers we moved most of the plants back four feet from the power pole in order to insure safety. I was a little upset about the fact that we had to move all the plants we had just planted but seeing that it was the best choice for the plants I continued to move the plants to the necessary placement. Many of the sea ox eye daisy where in bloom after being established into the beach. We worked for four hours to replant the plants and and are still keeping an eye on them to see how they are adapting to the new position on the beach.
We also had to move some rare sea lavender which is pictured above.
